A cabinet of curiosities

Behind the elegant façade of this Georgian house lies an outstanding two-acre Victorian garden - an oasis of colour and scent. Once home to the Peckovers, a family of Quaker
bankers, collectors and philanthropists, the house is a cabinet of curiosities to explore.

This is a hands-on house with a ‘cabinet of curiosities’, dressing-up clothes for children of all ages, a piano you can actually play and three floors revealing the lives of both the family and their servants. Outside, there are stunning displays of daffodils, narcissi and tulips in spring and roses in summer. Don’t miss the 300 year-old orange trees in the orangery.
