At the Larder on Goosegate we aim to deliver good honest British food using local produce served in a relaxing unpretentious environment.

From the Skylark hill Goats cheese produced in Cropwell Bishop by Vivian Hall, to the Coffee Beans that are roasted in Derbyshire for us, we strive to make the fantastic local produce in the area more accessible to everyone. The 28 day hung Hereford Beef reared and butchered for us by Rupert our Farmer in Clipston on the Wolds only travels 21miles from the field to the plate and even the Bitter we sell is made less than a mile from the restaurant by the Castle Rock Brewery.
We are passionate about keeping things simple, letting the produce speak for itself and maintaining the cooking style that has become our trademark since we opened.

The menus we produce aim to reflect the best of seasonal produce available and allow our customers to enjoy the style of meal to suit their needs. However, to offer a wide range of dishes we do have to sometimes go further a field, but always endeavour to source our ingredients from independent British producers. We believe this not only supports local and British producers alike but also reduces the time and distance the food has traveled to get to the plate, which we feel can only be a good thing.

The restaurant itself has been fully refurbished and is now more in keeping with the historic building in which it is situated Ð the grade II listed original Boots the Chemist Shop dating back to circa 1850. Furnished using comfortable Chesterfield sofas, elegant chandeliers and decorated in rich creams and soothing colours, the atmosphere created is a laid back and relaxing haven from the bustling streets of Hockley below.

In summary, at The Larder on Goosegate we aim to offer good honest British food using locally sourced ingredients, in a relaxed and comfortable environment.
