Moreton-in-Marsh Show is held on the first Saturday in September - this year on Saturday 3rd September. It's only held once a year so we recommend that you put the date in your diary early!

cotsw-moretonshow2Moreton-in-Marsh Show offers all of the charm of a traditional country show, even though with nearly 20,000 visitors it is thought to be one of the largest one-day agricultural shows in the UK.

Set in the heart of the Cotswolds Moreton-in-Marsh Show is built up in the traditional way with marquees and hurdle pens giving a true country show atmosphere - one day you see an empty field and then within a week it transforms into a bustling hive of activity!

Competitions are held for horses, cattle (including the National Show of Poll Hereford Cattle), sheep (including the National Show of Cotswold Sheep), goats, poultry, dogs, crafts, flowers and even scarecrows!

This year the Knights of Middle England will descend upon the sleepy Gloucestershire town looking to turn willing participants into courageous, jousting, medieval heroes! These 21st century knights will be performing their stunning display with fast horses, heroic knights and daring stunts in the shows' Grand Arena. A Good versus Bad theme is guaranteed to have audiences young and old drawn into their world of circa 1348, when the traditional evil Black Knight and his trusty fool try to take on The Earl of Warwick and his knights.

cotsw-moretonshow3A new and very welcome introduction to the 2011 Moreton-in-Marsh Show is a "Green Living Area" designed to promote greener living and self sufficiency. Brigit Strawbridge, star of BBC 2's 'It's Not Easy Being Green', will be on hand to answer questions and will be holding talks during show day. We have lots of information and samples for visitors to take away, and the new Area will also showcase local environmentally friendly companies.

This years' action packed Moreton-in-Marsh Show also sees local female equestrian team Jive Pony return to the Attractions Arena where they have previously wowed the crowds with their high-speed equine stunts, breathtaking gymnastics and amazing vaulting skills. Elsewhere the show offers fun but educational hands-on experiences in the Countryside & Heritage Area, and over 280 trade stands selling everything from farm equipment and gardening gear to designer clothes and toys, as well as a wide selection of food and drink in the wonderful Country Larder tent.

With free parking and advanced tickets available at a discount from www.moretonshow.co.uk until August 23rd Moreton-in-Marsh Show offers the ideal family day out to round up the summer.
