worcs AcornHseThe opening hours are 11a.m. to 6p.m. so those who wish to can spend the day here. Refreshments will be available throughout the day in Stottesdon and each village has a good public house, or just bring a picnic.

There is something for everyone, spacious country gardens, smaller ones with interesting features, rare and unusual plants and back garden smallholdings. Vegetable growers are catered for by gardens focusing on the principles of Permaculture, the use of raised beds, tubs and baskets, and the garden of a grower of champion vegetables. There is also a competition for tubs. This year the theme is the horse to celebrate Stottesdon's name and the Chinese Year of the Horse, which will be judged by you, the visitor.
The School Garden in Stottesdon, designed and cultivated by the children will be open and there will be activities and refreshments suitable for young children, but there are no crèche facilities.

The combined cost of entry is £5 for adults with children under 16 free, though the School Garden is free for everybody.

The villages are well sign-posted from the
Bridgnorth-Cleobury Mortimer Road (B4363/B4201), the Bridgnorth–Ludlow Road [B4364] and the B4199 from Bewdley.

GARDENERS' QUESTION TIME

SOMETHIN' ELSE SOUND DIRECTIONS LTD is coming to Stottesdon on Monday June 16 2014, to make a recording of GARDENERS' QUESTION TIME for BBC Radio 4. It will be a fascinating experience for anyone, not just keen gardeners, though unfortunately under 16 year olds are not allowed.

The event takes place in St Mary's Church, which has superb acoustics, and the recording takes place between 6.30 p.m. and 7.45 p.m. The doors are open between 5.30 p.m. and 6.20 p.m. to allow people to submit questions and enjoy light refreshments. The cost of entry is £3 to cover expenses. There will be space on the tickets for people to submit questions, thus giving you time to think, before arriving for the recording.
Since tickets will be sold on a first come first serve basis, it is unlikely that any will be available at the door.

Tickets can be bought at :-
Cleobury Country Centre (by the school and library) in Cleobury Mortimer
