In 2020, Tudor House will be working to bring the history of the house to life in bigger and better ways! There will be new displays and activities around the building for visitors to enjoy, new research into the lives of the former occupants will be told for the first time, and the community embroidery project, Bedfellows, will recreate the textiles that our Tudor ancestors would have enjoyed.
Situated on Friar Street, the oldest and prettiest street in Worcester, the building dates from the mid 1500s and is a stunning example of Tudor architecture, little changed since those times, with original features still on show.
Visitors can discover the hidden histories of Worcester by visiting, chatting to our friendly room guides, taking part in a trail or attending one of our lively and varied events. We have a welcoming cafe for you to refresh yourself after your visit. Tudor House is an independent, free to enter museum, run almost entirely by volunteers. Donations welcome!
The museum is open Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, from 10am to 4pm. Out of hours tours and school visits by arrangement.
The Hive has been 10 years in the making and came about due to the vision and commitment of two key partners; the University of Worcester and Worcestershire County Council.
The Museum, located in the original grade II listed workshop, celebrates the work of the renowned 20th century furniture designer, Sir Gordon Russell MC, and that of his Company over a period of sixty years in Broadway.
